- A2 stainless steel with partial thread, large washer head, AW recess and ring thread in the tip area. Reliably connects the wood instead of splitting it.
- Large washer head for high pull-through resistance and strong pulling together.
- AW recess for better torque transfer, a longer service life and optimal centring.
- The asymmetrical single-start thread enables particularly fast engaging with low screw-in torque and high over-turning force, therefore protecting the processing power tool and bit. Considerably faster than conventional chipboard screws.
- The 30° tip allows the screw to be positioned precisely and in a controlled manner.
- The ring thread significantly reduces the tendency of the wood to split, especially in the edge area, and almost completely prevents blow-outs due to its punching effect.
- Made of corrosion-resistant austenitic A2 stainless steel (1.4301, 1.4567) for long-term use.
Use Würth timber construction software to measure the ASSY screws with a diameter of more than 5mm. Austenitic stainless steel is characterised by a high degree of corrosion resistance against aggressive industrial air, sea air, tap water, river water, mine water and salt water, as well as woods containing tannic acid. It is resistant to acid to a certain extent and not suitable for atmospheres containing steel-grade chlorine gas.
The range of applications of the various stainless steels is contained in the following ISER (German Information Office for Rustproof Stainless Steel, Non-Rusting Steels for Various Environmental Conditions, www.edelstahl-rostfrei.de, Information Sheet 828) table. Rustproof stainless steels (e.g. material no. 1.4016) are recommended there for use in atmospheric processes only for use in a rural environment, and here as well only with great restrictions. We therefore recommend only using austenitic stainless steels for outdoor applications, taking the environmental conditions into account. Stainless steel A4 is especially suitable for use in an industrial atmosphere and for use near the sea. ASSY 3.0 particle board screws are optimised for use in wooden materials. When used in plastic anchors, a reduction of the load-bearing capacity is possible. Therefore, we recommend only using screws without optimised thread tips (drilling tip, mating thread, ring thread, serrated edge, self-clearing groove, etc.) in plastic dowels, e.g. Würth ASSY D, prefix 0151 (countersunk head) and prefix 0153 (pan head).
When using these screws, please follow ETA-11/0190 specifications.
ETA-11/0190
Universal use in photovoltaic/timber/carpentry trades for a tight-fitting consolidation of two parts
Screw-in angle 0° to 90°. For coniferous wood or wood-based materials made from softwood, make the fitting without a bradawl. To reduce the edge distances make a predrilled hole according to the core diameter. When screwing into hardwood, drill according to ETA-11/0190.
